The Knitting Circle x Tavour
Welcome tavour folks to the knitting circle!
We are pleased to partner with Tavour and extend the Knitting Circle to Oregon residents and 26 other states!
The Knitting Circle is our award winning bottle membership. Our approach to these beers is not necessarily about finding the best barrel or using the most obscure and expensive ingredients. Instead, our intent is primarily twofold: to offer early insight into the direction of Fair Isle and to share small, thoughtful, experimental batches.

Myrtle
Myrtle is brewed with malts from @lincmalt and steeped with Myrica Gale to coax out its multilayered flavor profile. This tiny, yet mighty ingredient packs a punch of flavor. On the nose there are hints of wildflower honey and straw, and on the palate we’re getting notes of euculyptus, juniper berry, Meyer lemon, and white pepper. It finishes dry, with a lively tartness from our house culture uplifting the singular character of the Myrica Gale. Every Fall we head to the sloughs and bogs of Washington to forage the fruit of Myrica Gale.

Behind the Artwork
Each year we dive into a new theme for the Knitting Circle Labels, from hiking in the PNW for Season 1 to LiDAR mapping our providers in Season 6. This year, we extract images from our travels of 2025. While the taproom and our Seattle guests are the core of Fair Isle, we can't ignore the influence our distribution and export sales have on Fair Isle, both financially but also culturally and how it informs the beer we make. We love drawing inspiration from our food, people, places and of course other breweries when we travel.
Last winter we began distribution in Japan with AQ Beverage and had the honor of visiting their team as we took a two week tour, sharing Fair Isle and everything we love about the PNW. We met new friends and many enthusiastic fans who had crossed the Pacific and visited Fair Isle before. We ate a ton of sushi, but still not enough and experienced new cultures, food and people.
Batch A are two images from the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and the Tenryuji Temple from a bike ride Owner, Andrew Pogue, and Head Brewer, Matt Rowe, did in Osaka.
Like living in the PNW, our experience was filled both with nature and urban explorations. Batch B is a composite of an image of the ice deciduous trees while skiing in Nagano and a tree in urban Tokyo.
