When you package a batch of beer, often there is a residual amount that doesn’t quite fill a keg but at the same time seems a shame to pour down the drain. Our brewer is a frugal guy and typically saves those amounts in a keg and when the next batch comes along, thoughtfully adds the remains of the second batch to what has now become a Frankenkeg. These Frankenkegs, become end-of-shift “staff kegs” while others are unexpected homeruns. Such is the case with Chinöna. An unplanned and unsanctioned brewer’s blend of Winona and Cheri.
